Detailed Information

Teton Valley Ranch Camp is the premier western adventure camp! With over 80 years of experience, we are one of the longest-running Western Adventure camps in the nation. During the 83 years we’ve been in operation we’ve led campers on adventures throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, including summiting the Tetons in Grand Teton National Park fly fishing in Yellowstone or horseback riding deep into the national forests that surround America’s First National Park. Just ask our families, over 40% of our campers each year come from multi-generational TVRC families, just last year we had a camper who’s great grandmother attended TVRC back in the 1940s. With this level of history and experience, we bring challenging and adventurous experiences to each and every camper that attends TVRC.

The Traditional TVRC Experience
TVRC’s traditional Camp Program is a 30-day summer camp experience that includes a variety of activities on our ranch and a chance to explore the west and rugged landscapes like generations before us have. Our in-camp program provides a variety of traditional camp activities and unique Wyoming specific adventures. From horseback riding to fly fishing, lapidary to archery, each day, campers can try something new!

Campers are divided into five Adventure Groups, Yearlings, Rough Riders, Tops Hands, Wranglers, and Trail Blazers, based on both age and experience. Each summer builds on the previous summer’s experience, as each year becomes more challenging and involved. Depending upon the day, different activities may be offered based upon the Adventure Group’s specific goals, challenges, and tasks.

On a typical TVRC day, after breakfast, campers assemble at the activity fence to hear the morning’s options and select their activity. After lunch and rest hour, campers return to the fence to choose their afternoon adventure. While campers always develop their favorite activities, each child is encouraged to try everything offered during their time in-camp.

In-Camp Activities Include:
Horseback riding (trail rides and gymkhana)
Fly Fishing
Target Sports (Riflery and Archery)
Day Hikes
Nature Discovery (learn about the natural world around us and Wyoming history)
Craft Shop
Lapidary (the polishing of rocks and stones into jewelry)
Fun field trips and special visits from star gazing groups to rescued birds of prey!

In addition to a wide range of half-day activities, several day trips depart each morning. These trips include fishing expeditions, trail rides, day hikes, and Discovery adventures. With a myriad of opportunities right in our backyard, campers love to take advantage of these trips; from swimming in high alpine lakes to fishing a stretch of a pristine river, day trips are always a hit! Alongside our day trips and in-camp activities, our backcountry trips program provides an opportunity to explore Wyoming like never before. Every camper completes a backpacking trip and a horse pack trip, exposing them to the beauty and wonders our world has to offer.

The Outrider Expeditions Program
The Teton Valley Ranch Outrider Expeditions is a chance to introduce your camper to TVRC’s spirit through exploring the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem’s wilds during a two-week backpacking experience. The culture of the West, and of Teton Valley Ranch Camp, was built on the values of courage, community, appreciation, and a willingness to try. This shorter experience maintains the true values of TVRC and fosters the connections and community that we know and love. Campers will gather around campfires to sing Serenade and Peace, form bonds of friendship, experience great adventures, and develop grit. As one of our past campers put it, “The Ranch is great, but it’s on the trail that we learn life-lessons and forge great friendships!”

Registration is open for our 2021 season! We have a maximum capacity of 260, 130 per Boy’s and Girl’s Season. We currently have 80% of spots taken for the Traditional Program. Outrider Program has 160 spots available, half for girls and half for boys. We currently have 60% of these spots taken for the Outrider Program.
